Overview ITC is the joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations. Through strategic development and capacity building based on these business services, ITC connects opportunities to markets. As a result, we achieve long-term, tangible benefits at both national and community levels.
What ITC does in Rwanda As a non-resident One UN agency, ITC’s role in Rwanda is to deliver practical trade-related support to Rwandese stakeholders. Upon the request of our partners, ITC provides the information, training and tools required to address supply-side constraints and increase competitiveness of Rwandese enterprises.
ITC programmes in Rwanda have the following focus:
▪ To reduce poverty and enhance the competitiveness in poor communities by promoting their integration into the global value chain.
▪ To improve business support services for women entrepreneurs engaged in international trade and export development.
▪ To develop successful strategies and studies which directly promote export development.
▪ To enable national trade support institutions to network more effectively as an interface between regional economic communities and the private sector.
▪ To develop and deliver tools and services responding to the specific enterprise management, supply chain management, and export logistics and distribution needs of exporting enterprises.
▪ To facilitate dialogue between the private and public sectors through multi-stakeholder meetings.
