After more than eight months of collaboration and construction, UNICEF and UNHCR joined MIDIMAR, Oxfam, and DFID to inaugurate the new permanent water treatment plant at Mahama Camp for Burundian refugees. With this advent of ample clean water and its resulting effects on good health and hygiene, residents of Mahama are freer to pursue their productive futures.

UNESCO Empowers Local Community Radio Stations through ICT

In 2016, four community radio stations - Radio Isangano, Radio Huguka, Radio Ishingiro and Radio Izuba - received capacity-building training through workshops organized by UNESCO, part of the One UN in Rwanda.
