You are here

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), officially known as Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, are a comprehensive set of 17 goals which will go above and beyond the remarkable past accomplishments of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to create a sustainable world by 2030. Formed through extensive worldwide consultations with all segments of society, with an emphasis on targeting global challenges, the SDGs are a comprehensive development plan to leave no person behind. The goals were officially adopted by world leaders in September 2015 in the UN General Assembly.

The 15-year agenda for sustainable development begins on January 1st 2016, to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and fix climate change. For more information on each goal please click on the SDGs icons below
